Getting a one year old to sleep Empty
PostSubject: Getting a one year old to sleep   Getting a one year old to sleep Icon_minitimeSat May 19 2007, 18:17

Following on from the time together thread, I wondered if anyone could help me with my little one.

She's just over 1, and has a very weird sleep pattern.

She'll wake at about 8am, (lucky me!) have her breakfast, a little play, then sleep again at about 11am till about 1pm. Then she'll have her lunch and a play and be really tired at about 4pm. She'll sleep for ages, and wake at about 7-8pm.

Then she's wide awake until about 10pm!

I've tried waking her up during her long naps, but she's just ratty then.

Tried keeping her awake, but I get the same results.

Anyone help? I want a night in with my fella! lol

I had this problem too, sort if. She woke up really early, slept half the day, and stayed up late! lol

What I did, was put her bed or wake her up 10 minutes earlier every time.

So if Sarah is going to sleep at 11, put her bed 10 minutes earlier each day. She'll probably wake before 1pm then. Then put her bed at about 3:45. Hopefully she'll then wake at 6:30-7:30 and bed by 9:30.

Do this every day, and it should work after a week or two. She won't notice what's happening, so it won't effect her at all.

I'll let you know how it goes tonight.
